Find professors

ApplyKite has profiles of more than 800,000 professors and researchers, built from their papers. Find the ones whose work is closest to yours, and the ones with funded positions or grants.

Find professors who match your research

Open Professors in the left menu.

As with positions, your research area and countries come from your profile. Results are ranked by how close a professor's papers are to your research, by meaning. Type your own topic, or select Search all countries to look everywhere.

Filters help you find, for example, professors with an open position or a grant.

A professor's profile​

A profile shows their university, research interests, recent papers, open positions, grants and links (like Google Scholar, ORCID and LinkedIn).

Beside it, the ApplyKite Twin box can:

  • Check my research fit: how close their work is to your interests
  • Draft an email: see Email a professor
  • Write a research proposal built on their work
  • Find similar professors

Credits: opening a professor's profile takes 1 credit the first time. Opening it again is free.

Track and follow up​

Select Track to add the professor to your Tracker. Set the status when you email them (Sent email), follow up (Sent 2nd email) and hear back (In contact).

tip

Write to a few professors at a time, and follow up after 10 to 14 days if you haven't heard back. The Twin can write the follow-up.
